With a firm grip on melodic, alternative rock, Kraftklub has charmed the rock-loving audience in Europe's most populous nation.

Lead singer Felix Brummer’s rap-inspired, German-language lyrics crawl over a soundtrack that sounds a bit like Franz Ferdinand or The Clash with weißbier in the blood and thinly disguised chart ambitions.

Many kilometres south of Berlin, Kraftklub have created their own intelligent and party-like rebel music. The easthern German musketeers like to wear college jackets, belts and polo shirts when they skewer the metropolitan bourgeoisie.

The band's popularity in their home country is reflected in sold-out concerts and a best-selling debut album. Now it is the people in Scandinavia's turn to put on their dancing shoes.

Enthusiastic, German-language indie rock.
