Mississippi rapper Big K.R.I.T. has been buzzing around the hip hop underground scene for some years, but it is only now that this extremely talented producer and rapper is about to break through.

His critically acclaimed mixtape Return Of 4eva is hip hop in the tradition of the Southern states in the 90s: filled with easy-flowing soul, organic sensations and plenty of parallels to Outkast and Underground Kingz.

Chicks and cars are obvious themes in hip hop, a genre favouring self-assertion rather than self-hatred. To that, Big K.R.I.T. has added social consciousness, self-irony, a sharp tongue and a brilliant flow, features increasing the pleasure of this semi-nostalgic hip hop.

Label: Def Jam / import

Semi-nostalgic hip hop from the Southern states.
